Aurora
Australis is an Anthroposophical College,
which is based on the understanding of the human being as given by
Rudolf Steiner

Rudolf Steiner
1861 -
1925
Austrian
spiritual scientist, originator of Anthroposophy (Wisdom of Man, suited
to the needs of modern humanity)
and Eurythmy.
His work commenced in Europe at the beginning of the 20th century. His
spiritual-scientific research led him to activate new insights into
agriculture, the art of education (Rudolf Steiner Schools or Waldorf
Schools), social sciences (The Threefold Social Order), medicine
and the anthroposophical arts (eurythmy, speech & drama,
architecture, painting
and
sculpture.)
The Anthroposophical Arts are a path of development through which we
can explore the inter- relationships between natural science, spiritual
science and the different art forms.

The school (started its life in 1990) is located in 2 Union Street, Kew, Victoria, Australia. (Kew is a highly regarded suburb of Melbourne, rather near to the City centre, easily accessible by tram, bus and train. You can find it on the detailed map of Melbourne, Melway 45 d6).
The
founder, the main teacher and the Artistic Director of the College is
Birgith Lugosi. She was born in Austria, in 1945. Birgith has
accumulated a wealth of experience in the arts, health care and
business. She studied Painting and History of Art, she worked as a
restorer of antique wood-sculptures and also as a Medical Assistant.
With her love of art, music and dance, she was naturally attracted by
the unique, embracing art of Eurythmy. She studied Eurythmy for four
years at the Eurythmy Academy in Munich and received her Diploma in
1984. She also
finished the Curative Eurythmy Training in England,
recieved her
